Year round, unique Birding opportunities abound along the Coast and at the Lake Earl Wildlife Refuge. Sea Birds, Shore Birds, and Raptors converge here. Murres, Puffins and Auklets nest on nearby Castle Rock. Best Season - October through May. Roosevelt Elk can be seen in Prairie Creek State Park and Redwood National State Park. The Wild and Scenic Smith River and surrounding National Recreation Area is home to a wide variety of Birds, Fish and Mammals.
